ENGAGING STUDENTS IN LEARNING VOCABULARY MEDIATED BY PLEMORIZE
KETERLIBATAN PARA SISWA DALAM BELAJAR KOSAKATA BAHASA INGGRIS MELALUI APLIKASI PLEMORIZE
Abstract
This research was conducted as vocabulary becomes an essential part of learning English. Vocabulary is a fundamental thing that must be mastered by every English learner. This study aims at engaging students in learning vocabulary through Plemorize-assisted. Therefore of the importance of learning vocabulary, researcher make research on learning vocabulary more interesting and simpler and can be easily understood by students, namely the Plemorize (Vocabulary Notebook) application by engagement the active role of students, considering vocabulary learning in schools today using traditional methods that tend to bore. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive case studies. In choosing participants, the researcher randomly selected nine students in seventh grade at one of the junior high schools in Bekasi. The researcher used two data collection techniques to conduct this research, namely interviews and artifacts. After the data is collected, all the data is processed using data reduction data, data display, conclusion, and data verification. The result, of this study, indicated that students were engaged whether behaviorally, emotionally, and cognitively in the vocabulary classroom. The students were delighted by Plemorize in the vocabulary classroom. so interested in learning vocabulary mediated by Plemorize because it was easier, simpler, and had an attractive appearance.
