This study aims to analyze the use of big data to improve transparency and accountability in education management in the digital era. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study explores how big data is used to support evidence-based decision-making and create open and participatory education governance. Data were obtained through interviews, documentation studies, and analysis of current literature related to big data implementation in the education sector. The results show that the use of big data has transformed from a mere administrative tool into a strategic instrument that strengthens the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of educational institutions. The implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS), Education Data Warehouse, and analytics dashboards enables the real-time integration of academic, financial, and performance data, thus facilitating evaluation and public oversight (Zhang et al., 2023; Li & Chen, 2024). Furthermore, the success of big data implementation is strongly influenced by three main factors: digital infrastructure readiness, increased data literacy among educators, and ethical data governance policies (Nguyen et al., 2024; Han et al., 2025). The findings of this study also confirm that big data encourages predictive transparency, allowing educational institutions to project the impact of policies before they are implemented. However, challenges such as the digital literacy gap, limited infrastructure, and data privacy issues still require serious attention. Therefore, cross-sector collaboration between educational institutions, the government, and the technology industry is needed to build an inclusive, secure, and sustainable data ecosystem. Overall, this study concludes that big data is not simply a technological innovation, but rather a transformational foundation for transparent, ethical, and evidence-based education governance. With the synergy between technology, policy, and human competency, educational institutions can create an accountable management system oriented towards improving the quality of education in the future.
