2. Management Structure

Role Responsibilities
Publisher (Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang) Provides institutional, financial, and technological support; ensures that business interests do not influence editorial decisions
Managing unit (Department of Mathematics Education) Manages the day-to-day operation of the journal and provides administrative and staff support
Editor-in-Chief Holds final responsibility for editorial content and publication decisions; leads the editorial team; ensures adherence to the journal's policies and COPE guidelines
Section Editors editors from outside UNSIKA, in Indonesia and abroad Handle the peer review of manuscripts assigned to them: reviewer selection, evaluation of review reports, and editorial recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief
Editors from UNSIKA Support editorial management, such as initial screening, technical checks, and production; they do not act as Section Editors for manuscripts by UNSIKA authors
Peer Reviewers Evaluate manuscripts independently under double-blind review

The current members of the editorial team and the peer reviewers are listed on the Editorial Team and Peer Reviewers pages, together with their affiliations and academic profiles.

3. Appointment of the Editorial Team

Appointments follow international guidance on journal governance, including the COPE Core Practices, the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, and WASPE), and the WAME recommendations on editorial independence.

Position Appointment and term
Editor-in-Chief Appointed by the publisher on the recommendation of the managing unit, through a transparent process based on scholarly standing in mathematics education, publication record, and editorial experience. The appointment is for a fixed, renewable term, normally three years. The Editor-in-Chief cannot be removed because of the content of editorial decisions made in good faith.
Section Editors Appointed from among editors affiliated with institutions outside UNSIKA, in Indonesia or abroad, by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the managing unit, for a renewable term, normally three years, based on expertise in the journal's scope, an active record of publications in reputable journals, a verifiable academic profile (such as ORCID, Scopus, or Google Scholar), and commitment to the journal's ethical standards.
Editors from UNSIKA Appointed by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the managing unit, for a renewable term, normally three years, to support editorial management and production.
Peer Reviewers Invited by the editors on the basis of expertise and publication record, and listed publicly on the Peer Reviewers page.
Diversity: the editorial board is composed to reflect the international and geographical reach of the journal; the majority of editors are affiliated with institutions other than the publisher, and the role of Section Editor is assigned only to editors from outside UNSIKA, which strengthens the independence of the peer review process.
Transparency: the full names, affiliations, countries, and academic profiles of all editors are published and kept up to date.
Performance: the activity of editors (manuscripts handled, timeliness, and quality of decisions) is reviewed annually; inactive members may be replaced at the end of their term.
Editors as authors: editors may submit their own work, which is handled independently (see Conflict of Interest). The number of articles by members of the editorial board in each issue is kept to a minimum.

4. Editorial Independence

Although the journal is owned, published, and managed by UNSIKA, editorial decisions are made independently by the editorial team on the basis of scholarly merit alone. Neither the publisher, the managing unit, nor any funder or advertiser may influence the review or acceptance of manuscripts. Manuscripts from UNSIKA authors go through the same double-blind review process as all other submissions.
