SJME (Supremum Journal of Mathematics Education) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. In accordance with guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the journal takes prompt and appropriate action when errors, scientific misstatements, or publication ethics violations are identified post-publication.
Corrections are issued when significant errors affect the accuracy, clarity, or completeness of an article without invalidating its fundamental research findings or overall conclusions. Authors are encouraged to notify the Editorial Team immediately upon discovering errors in their published work.
Depending on the nature of the error, JURNAL SJME will publish one of the following notices:
Corrigendum: Issued if a major error was introduced by the author(s) (e.g., calculation errors, missing citations, or author details).
Erratum: Issued if an error was introduced by the publisher during formatting, typesetting, or production.
Addendum: Issued if additional essential context or data needs to be appended to clarify the original research.
Transparency Standard: Correction notices are published as formal, citable documents linked directly to the original article to ensure full transparency and preserve the historical archival record.
A retraction is implemented when a published article contains severe errors or ethical violations that invalidate its findings, methodology, or overall conclusions.
Triggers for Retraction Include:
Evidence of data fabrication, falsification, or severe scientific misconduct.
Major plagiarism, redundant/duplicate publication, or self-plagiarism without proper disclosure.
Unethical research practices or unresolvable conflicts of interest.
Fundamental errors or methodological flaws that compromise the reliability of the study.
Retraction Process & Procedure:
Investigation: Retraction decisions are made by the Editorial Team following an impartial investigation in accordance with COPE Retraction Guidelines.
Author Right of Reply: Authors are notified and provided an opportunity to respond to the concerns raised.
Publication of Notice: A formal Retraction Notice will be published, explaining the reasons for retraction and referencing the authors and article metadata.
Archival Preservation: The original article PDF will remain accessible on the OJS site for scholarly traceability, but it will be permanently watermarked as "RETRACTED" across all pages.
The Editorial Board may issue an Expression of Concern if:
There is inconclusive evidence of research or publication misconduct by the authors.
An official investigation by an institution or governing body is ongoing, but a decision will not be available for a considerable time.
JURNAL SJME handles all correction and retraction cases impartially, transparently, and consistently, regardless of the authors' institutional affiliations, academic status, or personal background. The primary goal is to protect academic integrity, maintain public trust in mathematics education research, and uphold the scholarly standard.
To report an error, submit an ethical concern, or request a correction/retraction, please contact the Managing Editor via email at redaksi_supremum@unsika.ac.id with the subject line: "Correction/Retraction Inquiry - [Article Title / Volume / Issue]".
