Focus and Scope

KOLASE: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Budaya is an academic journal that publishes research findings, studies, and academic perspectives in the field of Indonesian language and literature education. This journal is open to researchers, academics, educators, students, and practitioners who are concerned with the development of language and literature studies and their learning.

The scope of KOLASE includes:

  1. Indonesian Language Education
    Research and studies on Indonesian language learning at various educational levels, including strategies, methods, models, approaches, media, teaching materials, assessment, and learning evaluation.

  2. Indonesian Literature Education
    Studies on literature learning, literary appreciation, literature learning strategies, development of literature teaching materials, as well as the application of approaches and media in literature learning.

  3. Indonesian Linguistics
    Research on various aspects of language, such as phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, discourse analysis, and other linguistic studies.

  4. Indonesian Literature
    Studies of Indonesian literary works, including poetry, prose, short stories, novels, drama, and other forms of literary works using various approaches and perspectives in literary studies.

  5. Discourse Analysis and Pragmatics
    Research on the use of language in communication contexts, discourse structure and meaning, speech acts, implicatures, language politeness, and phenomena of language use in various social contexts.

  6. Development of Learning Media and Teaching Materials
    Research and development of learning media, teaching materials, learning tools, as well as the use of technology in Indonesian Language and Literature learning.

  7. Literacy and Language Skills
    Studies on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, including reading and writing literacy and their development in educational contexts.

  8. Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA)
    Research on Indonesian language learning for foreign speakers, including learning materials, teaching strategies and methods, learning media, evaluation, language acquisition, and the development of language competencies.

  9. Cultural and Language Studies
    Research examining the relationship between language, literature, education, and culture, including cultural representation in language and literary works as well as linguistic phenomena in society.

  10. Interdisciplinary Studies of Language and Literature
    Studies that connect Indonesian language and literature with other fields of knowledge as long as they have a strong connection to language education, literature, linguistics, or Indonesian Language and Literature learning.

KOLASE accepts articles that demonstrate novelty, academic relevance, clear methodology, and contributions to the development of knowledge and educational practices in Indonesian Language and Literature Education. Manuscripts that fall outside the focus and scope of the journal may not proceed to the review stage.
