Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
KOLASE: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra implements a peer review process to ensure that every published article meets academic, scientific, and publication ethics standards. Each submitted manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editor before being forwarded to reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject area of the manuscript.
1. Initial Screening by the Editor
Submitted manuscripts are initially screened by the editor to ensure their alignment with the journal’s focus and scope, writing guidelines, manuscript completeness, and publication ethics standards. The editor may also conduct an initial plagiarism or similarity check.
2. Evaluation by Reviewers
Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements are sent to reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers evaluate the manuscripts based on several aspects, including the novelty and relevance of the topic, clarity of the research objectives, appropriateness of the research methods, quality of the analysis and discussion, use of references, and consistency between the findings and conclusions.
3. Review Process
KOLASE applies a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of the authors are not disclosed to the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors throughout the review process. This system is implemented to maintain objectivity and minimize potential bias in the evaluation process.
4. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, the editor will make a decision regarding the manuscript. The decision may be:
-
accepted without revision;
-
accepted with minor revisions;
-
accepted with major revisions;
-
rejected.
The editor may require authors to revise the manuscript based on the reviewers’ comments. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
5. Manuscript Revision
Authors are responsible for revising their manuscripts based on the comments and recommendations provided by the reviewers. All revisions must be made clearly and submitted within the deadline specified by the editor.
6. Final Decision and Publication
The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance rests with the editor, based on the review results and academic considerations. Manuscripts that have been accepted will proceed to the editing and publication preparation stages before being published online.
Review Ethics
Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts objectively, constructively, and professionally. Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts, must not use information contained in the manuscripts for personal purposes, and must disclose any potential conflicts of interest to the editor.
