Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of parenting styles on the emotional development of early childhood. Early childhood is a crucial period in shaping emotional growth that affects the child’s personality and well-being in the future. This research employed a literature review method by analyzing ten scientific articles published between 2017 and 2023. The findings show that parenting styles significantly affect children’s emotional development. Democratic and authoritative parenting are proven to enhance emotional regulation, independence, and social competence, while authoritarian parenting tends to have a negative impact on emotional well-being. Therefore, parents need to provide appropriate stimulation and guidance to optimize children’s emotional development
